Through Rio Tinto’s partnership with Chandler Macleod, we are seeking experienced Process Operators to join a safety-focused team at Bell Bay Smelter. You’ll work alongside experienced crews, supporting day-to-day operations while contributing to safe and reliable outcomes.
What you’ll bring to the table
- Strong manual handling capability and physical fitness
- Ability to work in hot, dusty, high-risk environments
- Strong situational awareness and hazard recognition
- Ability to follow detailed processes (SWIs/SOPs) and communicate via radio
- Willingness to work 12-hour day and night shifts
- Commitment to PPE compliance (long sleeves, heat-resistant gear, respirator, gloves, etc.)
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol testing
- Comfortable working in a respirator and around magnetic fields
- Exposure to industrial environments (smelting, mining, manufacturing)
- Previous shift work experience
- Strong work ethic and reliable attendance
- High physical workload including lifting up to 25kg, pushing wheelbarrows, raking, and manual skimming
- Working around high temperatures, dust, molten metal and moving machinery
