An established global manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to provide immediate operational support during a major payroll systems transformation.
This role requires a payroll professional who can quickly take ownership of assigned payrolls and independently manage end-to-end payroll processing. You will play a key role in maintaining business-as-usual payroll operations while supporting a period of organisational change.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end processing of fortnightly and monthly payrolls
- Maintain payroll records and employee data
- Process new starters, terminations, salary increases and back pays
- Interpret awards, enterprise agreements and payroll legislation
- Manage leave, overtime and attendance related payroll activities
- Resolve payroll queries from employees and management
- Complete payroll reporting and statutory obligations
- Reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts
- Assist with month-end payroll activities
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and company policies
- Proven experience processing end-to-end payroll in medium to large organisations
- Strong hands-on experience using Preceda
- Experience working with time and attendance systems
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation and superannuation
- Experience interpreting awards and enterprise agreements
- Ability to work autonomously and confidently manage payroll deadlines
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience within manufacturing or similar complex payroll environments
