About the Opportunity

Through Rio Tinto’s partnership with Chandler Macleod, we are seeking an experienced Plant
Controller.
This role is supporting a 24/7 operation, and the successful candidate will be required to work a
rotating roster including Day, Night, Weekend and Public holiday work, with the roster patterns
as follows:
5/5/4 - 5 days on, 5 days off, 4 nights on, 5 days off, 2 days/3nights, 4 days off.
Your task is to control and monitor fixed plant equipment in a remote mining environment from a
central control room.
Reporting to the Supervisor of Operations Centre, and working in a collaborative and
exciting environment, you will:
• Use specialised software and control systems
• Maintain communication with on-site personnel
• Respond to system problems and operational issues while meeting production targets
Your duties will also include:
• Strong commitment to safety
• Operation of HMI - SCADA systems to optimise safety and production.
• Effective and accurate downtime recording using downtime recording program.
• Engage with key stakeholders to enhance daily, weekly and monthly targets and
strategies
• Effective administration and information collating
• Comply with business fatigue management polices
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
• Prior Control Room experience in Fixed Plant Mine Operations environment (Preferred),
or similar exposure in other fixed plant settings.
• Strong Communication skills
• Understanding of service delivery and value chain impacts
• Ability to multitask and identify risks
• Efficient activation of emergency response and coordination or other high pressure
critical tasks.
• Continuous improvement and collaborative mindset
• Hold a current drivers licence and have reliable transport
