About the Opportunity

Through Rio Tinto’s partnership with Chandler Macleod, we are seeking an experienced Mobile Equipment Boilermaker to join the Robe Valley Mesa J team in Pannawonica.
This role is ideally suited to a skilled tradesperson with experience performing structural repairs and maintenance on heavy mobile mining equipment. Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience repairing cracks, buckets, handrails, gauges and drill components, along with strong welding and steel fabrication capabilities.
Operating on a FIFO 8 days on 6 days off roster(12.5 hour shifts across days and nights), you will play a key role in maintaining asset reliability, equipment availability and safe operational performance.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and working in a collaborative and exciting environment, you will:
- Perform maintenance activities on earthmoving equipment to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation.
- Identify defects and provide timely feedback on asset performance and condition through the asset management system, including raising notifications and completing work orders.
- Support defect elimination processes and contribute to work management analysis and asset tactics reviews.
- Execute work in line with approved job instructions and standards.
- Complete post-maintenance equipment commissioning and clean-up
- Work safely within Rio Tinto procedures
- Experience with MIG & Stick welding (TIG experience desirable)
- Hold an Engineering trade certificate
- Must hold Working at heights (EWP, LF, Rigging and dogging desirable.)
- High attention to detail, particularly during post-maintenance activities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous mining or heavy industry experience.
- Commitment to work the rostered shifts (12.5 hour shifts, Mix of days and nights)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Dedication to everyone's safety.
- Current C Class manual driver's licence.
- Relevant trade qualifications and certificates
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and other testing.
