Mechanical Maintainer | Rio Tinto Ports | 5/5/4 roster with a mix of days and nights. 
We are looking for an experienced, safety conscious Mechanical Maintainers to join our team at Dampier. The purpose of this role will be to provide a safe and efficient facility through the execution of mechanical fault finding, planned and opportune maintenance.  This is a residential role only.     

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and working in a collaborative community, the role will require you to:
  • Complete preventative/corrective/planned /operational maintenance for all equipment in the fixed plant area, including but not limited to, conveyors, balanced machines, car dumpers
  • Conduct routine inspections of all fixed plant assets
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness and comply with company policies and procedures
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement projects by increasing safety whilst reducing risk and cost
  • Utilise SAP to ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded, assigned correctly and completed to the relevant standard / specification
  • Isolate equipment for maintenance and operational task
About you
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team  
  • A Mechanical Engineering/Fitting/Fabrication Trade Qualification
  • Experience working on the following equipment: car dumpers, stackers, reclaimers and ship loaders
  • Proficiency in motor/gearbox, Pulley and Bucketwheel changeouts, Laser Alignment, Dogging experience and Rigging experience as well as ability to conduct high quality maintenance inspections.
  • Working at Heights and confined spaces
  • Able to work a varied swing with a mix of days and nights
  • A Manual C-class Australian driver’s licence (HR desirable)
