We’re seeking three qualified Boilermakers for a permanent full-time opportunity in Inverell across heavy fabrication, welding and specialist equipment work. This is not production-line work—you’ll be working on large apparatus and custom projects where no two days are the same, including crane grillages, earth-moving equipment, vacuum trucks and some mobile welding work.
This permanent role offers full-time hours across a 38-hour standard week with overtime available, with typical hours 6.00am–4.30pm Monday to Thursday and a shorter day Friday, plus occasional weekend work as required.
Relocation support may be available for the right person, and if you’re considering a move, a trial period may be offered so you can work with the team and get a feel for the role and the area before committing long term.
Duties
- Heavy structural and general fabrication
- Welding and fabrication of crane-related equipment and grillages
- Fabrication/repair work on earth-moving equipment
- Work on vacuum trucks and other specialist heavy equipment
- Mobile welding and field-based work as required
- Working across a variety of materials and fabrication requirements
- Reading and working from drawings to deliver quality work to spec
Skills and Experience
- Trade qualified (Cert III or IV in Engineering – Fabrication Trade / Boilermaker-Welder / Metal Fabricator, or closely related)
- Strong hands-on experience in heavy fabrication and welding
- Confident interpreting drawings and measurements
- Strong focus on quality, safety and doing the job properly
- Reliable, practical, positive attitude
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with stainless steel and aluminium
- Crane ticket and/or forklift licence
