Casual Full-Time Electrical Maintainer (Industrial Maintenance and Machine Operations)

Location:  Yeerongpilly, QLD
Employment type:  Casual full-time (with a pathway to a permanent leadership role)
Pay rate:  $60 per hour + super
Work pattern:  Tuesday to Friday standard. Mondays you must be available for additional work as required.

A major national rail and infrastructure operator is seeking a qualified Electrical Maintainer to support maintenance and operational activities across specialised rail plant and infrastructure machinery. This is a hands-on position suited to an experienced industrial electrician who enjoys fault finding, preventative maintenance, and working directly with large equipment in a high-compliance environment.
This role is casual full-time initially, with genuine long-term opportunity for the right candidate to step into a permanent leadership pathway.

Key responsibilities
  • Electrical and mechanical maintenance of plant and infrastructure machinery
  • Fault finding, troubleshooting, repairs, and minor modifications
  • Operation of specialised machinery (where trained and authorised)
  • Preventative and reactive maintenance to support reliability and availability targets
  • Maintenance reporting and documentation in SAM
  • Strict adherence to safety, operational, and site procedures
  • Additional trade and operator duties as required
About you

Essential
  • Electrical trade qualification (Cert III or equivalent)
  • Strong industrial maintenance background
  • Proven fault-finding and diagnostic capability
  • Mechanical aptitude and practical, hands-on approach
  • Experience working on heavy plant or industrial equipment
  • Reliable transport
  • Availability for Mondays, and flexibility for weekends and varying hours when required
  • Clear communication skills and ability to work well in a team
  • Current White Card
Desirable
  • Experience with motors, sensors, automation, and PLCs
  • Exposure to industrial control systems
  • Maintenance planning or scheduling exposure (not essential)
  • SARC
  • RIW
