An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced senior leader to join the National Fire Ant Eradication Program (NFAEP) within the Department of Primary Industries (DPI). This high-impact leadership role will be responsible for driving operational continuity across facilities, fleet, logistics, data, and digital services while shaping the Program's long-term operational footprint through to 2032.
The Opportunity
As the Director – Program Operational Continuity, you will provide strategic leadership across critical business functions that enable one of Queensland's most significant biosecurity programs. Working closely with executive stakeholders, you will lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive Strategic Estate Plan, ensuring the program's operational infrastructure remains sustainable, efficient, and fit-for-purpose as operational requirements evolve.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead facilities, fleet, logistics, data and digital solution functions across the program footprint.
- Develop and deliver a long-term Strategic Estate Plan through to 2032.
- Drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and high-performance outcomes.
- Provide executive-level advice on complex operational and strategic issues.
- Build strong partnerships across government and corporate service providers.
- Lead teams through change while ensuring critical operational capability is maintained.
You are a proven senior leader with experience managing large-scale operational services in complex environments. You bring strong strategic planning capabilities and can confidently navigate competing priorities while delivering practical, sustainable solutions.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrated leadership experience in the strategic management of facilities, fleet and logistics functions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and executive influencing skills.
- Experience developing and implementing strategic plans in complex organisations.
- Current unrestricted C Class Driver Licence.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related discipline.
- Experience in strategic planning, program delivery, project management or operational transformation.
- Exposure to biosecurity, emergency response, or large-scale operational environments.
- Competitive hourly rate of $115 - $125 per hour plus super (negotiable)
