The Opportunity
We are seeking a Capability Development Support Officer to provide governance, coordination, information management and administrative support across a major Defence capability development program.
Working closely with program stakeholders, you will play a key role in supporting governance forums, coordinating taskings, maintaining records and documentation, and ensuring effective information management across multiple concurrent activities.
This role will suit a highly organised professional who can manage competing priorities while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate correspondence, information flows and shared document repositories.
- Support governance boards, committees, working groups and stakeholder meetings.
- Prepare agendas, briefing packs, decision-support documentation and meeting minutes.
- Manage action registers, task tracking and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate stakeholder taskings and consolidate responses for governance artefacts.
- Maintain records and document repositories in accordance with information management requirements.
- Support audit, assurance and compliance activities.
- Assist with workforce coordination, business management and administrative functions.
- Provide broader program coordination support as required.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in project support, governance, administration or program coordination roles.
- Excellent Microsoft Office and collaboration tool skills.
- Strong organisational and information management capabilities.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Experience supporting governance forums, boards, committees or project teams.
- Experience managing records, correspondence and document control processes.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within Defence or Government environments.
- Exposure to capability development, ICT programs, acquisition or program delivery activities.
- Knowledge of governance frameworks and information management processes.
- Experience using records management and collaboration systems.
- Understanding of capability development or program governance environments.
Contract Details
Contract Term: 1 January 2027 – 31 December 2027
Extension Options: Up to 2 x 12-month extensions available
Location: Russell, ACT
Hours: 40 hours per week
Security Clearance: NV1 (Mandatory)
