About the Opportunity

Through Rio Tinto's partnership with Chandler Macleod, we are seeking an experienced Boilermaker for Rio Tinto Brockman.
This is a great opportunity to join a safety-focused team working on site with Rio Tinto. You'll work alongside experienced crews, supporting day-to-day operations while contributing to safe and reliable outcomes.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
• Performing welding activities using MIG and Stick techniques on equipment, including chute repair and patching work
• Identifying and scoping maintenance defects requiring fabrication repairs, and providing timely feedback through the asset management system
• Assisting the wider maintenance team by responding to radio calls and supporting workshop operations as required
• Executing maintenance tasks in accordance with approved work instructions, procedures, and standards
• Completing post-maintenance equipment commissioning and clean-up, while working safely within Rio Tinto procedures
About You
• Demonstrated experience in MIG and Stick welding
• Previous mining or heavy industry experience
• Hold a trade certificate as a Boilermaker
• Strong fabrication capability (steel fabrication and shutdown scoping experience highly regarded)
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Dedication to everyone's safety
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and other testing
