Through Rio Tinto's partnership with Chandler Macleod, we are seeking an experienced Heavy Road Transport Fitter to join the Heavy Road Transport team at Gudai-Darri.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified tradesperson to perform planned and preventative maintenance across an extensive fleet of heavy road transport equipment. This is an ongoing casual assignment with potential for longer-term opportunities following an initial three-month period.
This FIFO role operates on an 8 days on, 6 days off dayshift-only roster from Perth.
Reporting to the Supervisor and working in a collaborative and exciting environment, you will:
- Perform planned and preventative maintenance on heavy road transport equipment
- Maintain Volvo, Scania, MAN and Isuzu trucks
- Assist with the maintenance of Liebherr and Franna cranes where required
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to increase safety and reduce risk
- Work safely in accordance with Rio Tinto policies and procedures
- Heavy Duty Fitter or Plant Mechanic trade qualification
- Heavy Road Transport (HRT) qualification
- Forklift ticket
- Current Australian C Class Manual Driver's Licence
- Experience maintaining Volvo, Scania, MAN and Isuzu trucks
- Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Full Australian working rights
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and other testing
