Through Rio Tinto's partnership with Chandler Macleod, we are seeking an experienced Heavy Road Transport Fitter
for Gudai-Darri Heavy Road Transport Operations.
This is a great opportunity to join a safety-focused team working on site with Rio Tinto. You'll work alongside experienced crews, supporting day-to-day operations while contributing to safe and reliable outcomes.
Reporting to the Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
• Perform planned and preventative maintenance on heavy road transport equipment
• Maintain and repair Volvo, Scania, MAN and Isuzu truck fleets
• Assist with maintenance activities on Liebherr and Franna cranes when required
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety and reduce operational risk
• Work safely and in accordance with Rio Tinto policies, procedures and site requirements
About You
• Demonstrated experience maintaining heavy road transport equipment in an operational environment
• Previous mining, heavy industry, transport or mobile maintenance experience
• Heavy Duty Fitter or Plant Mechanic trade qualification together with a Heavy Road Transport (HRT) qualification
• Experience maintaining Volvo, Scania, MAN and Isuzu trucks, with a current Australian C Class Manual Driver's Licence and Forklift Ticket
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Dedication to everyone's safety
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and other testing
