Are you an experienced Workers Compensation and Injury Management professional looking for a flexible opportunity within State Government? About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Workers Compensation Consultant (Level 5) to join the team on a six-month temporary contract. Working 3-4 days per week (7.5 hours per day), this position offers a flexible hybrid arrangement, combining work from home with time spent in the Joondalup office.
Reporting within the People and Capability function, you will provide specialist advice and coordinate workers compensation and injury management activities across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise while contributing to the development of improved injury management frameworks and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process workers compensation claims from lodgement through to resolution.
- Coordinate and support non-compensable employees returning to work following illness or injury.
- Assess and evaluate organisational requirements relating to both compensable and non-compensable injuries and illnesses.
- Provide timely advice and support to managers, employees and key stakeholders on workers compensation and injury management matters.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with insurers, medical practitioners and other external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of a contemporary framework to support the effective management of workplace injuries and illnesses across the organisation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures while maintaining accurate case records.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in workers compensation claims management and injury management.
- Sound knowledge of return-to-work and rehabilitation principles.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- The ability to provide practical, accurate advice while managing a diverse caseload.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working within a government or large organisational environment will be highly regarded.
