Chandler Macleod is recruiting on behalf of our client for Strategic Communications Officers to support a high-profile national program delivering long-term strategic outcomes for Australia.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a complex and evolving policy environment, working alongside government stakeholders, industry partners and senior decision-makers to support strategic communication initiatives, stakeholder engagement activities and policy outcomes.

About the Role As a Strategic Communications Officer, you will play a key role in supporting communication strategies, stakeholder engagement activities and the development of high-quality written products that inform decision-making and public messaging.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing communication materials, briefs, reports and correspondence.
  • Supporting strategic engagement activities across government, industry and community stakeholders.
  • Contributing to ministerial submissions, briefing packs and executive communications.
  • Conducting research and analysis to support policy and communication outcomes.
  • Assisting with stakeholder engagement and consultation activities.
  • Supporting senior leaders in the preparation for domestic and international engagements.
  • Monitoring emerging issues and providing strategic communication advice.
Key Criteria To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience developing briefs, reports, communications or policy documents.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management abilities.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting strategic projects, communications or policy initiatives within government or related environments will be highly regarded.

Eligibility Applicants must:

  • Be Australian Citizens.
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance.
