About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Data Analyst to join the agency. This role requires a highly capable professional who can work independently on complex analytical activities, provide strategic insights, and support decision-making through data-driven recommendations.
The successful candidate will undertake detailed analytical work, manage competing priorities, and contribute to projects that influence both operational and strategic outcomes. You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, present findings to diverse audiences, and provide guidance to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct complex data analysis, reporting, and investigative activities to support business objectives.
- Manage day-to-day analytical tasks, including regular reporting, project work, and ad hoc requests.
- Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and business insights.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Contribute to reporting governance, quality assurance, and data integrity processes.
- Interpret analytical findings and provide evidence-based recommendations to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with teams across the agency to ensure consistent data usage, reporting, and messaging.
- Present analytical outcomes and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support stakeholder engagement and build strong internal and external relationships.
- Mentor and develop junior analysts, promoting best practices in data analysis and reporting.
- Support project delivery and contribute to strategic initiatives within the risk and integrity functions.
You Must Have
- Strong experience in data analytics and data interpretation.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
- Experience using analytics and reporting tools, ideally SAS Enterprise Guide (SAS EG) and/or SAS Viya.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex data-related issues.
- Excellent critical thinking capabilities and the ability to make evidence-based decisions.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to build productive stakeholder relationships and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience preparing reports, presentations, and briefing materials for senior stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with a high degree of autonomy.
- Experience with Python and/or R programming languages.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.
- Experience in fraud analytics, risk analytics, or integrity-related environments.
- Experience working within a large and complex government or regulated environment.
