Richmond, VIC | $74 per hour + Super | Contract until December 2026
We are seeking an experienced Senior Active Transport Project Officer to join a leading local government organisation based in Richmond on a contract through to December 2026.
This role will play a key part in delivering active transport initiatives that promote walking and cycling, while contributing to strategic transport projects that enhance community outcomes across the municipality.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver active transport infrastructure and improvement projects.
- Coordinate multiple stakeholder groups, including residents, government agencies and community organisations.
- Provide specialist advice on active transport planning, cycling and pedestrian infrastructure.
- Assist in the development of transport strategies, policies and Council reports.
- Manage project budgets, procurement activities, tenders and contracts.
- Support community consultation and stakeholder engagement activities.
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
- Strong knowledge of current trends, innovations and emerging issues within the active transport sector.
- Proven project management experience delivering complex infrastructure or transport projects.
- Sound understanding of traffic management principles, engineering guidelines, legislation, standards and statutory requirements.
- Experience working within transport planning, traffic engineering, civil engineering or a related field.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and community consultation skills.
- Excellent report writing, communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience within Local Government will be highly regarded.
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning or a related discipline.
- Experience delivering active transport, cycling, pedestrian or transport infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across diverse stakeholder groups.
