This is an excellent opportunity for an HSE professional looking to gain valuable experience within a major heavy-industry environment, working alongside experienced operational and safety teams.

This is a site-based role for a 12-month period, with the possibility of extension.

Reporting to the Supervisor and working in a collaborative and exciting environment, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day HSE support to site-based teams

  • Support incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions
  • Assist with risk assessments, JHAs, SWMS, Take 5s and safety documentation
  • Coach workers and leaders on safe work practices and site requirements
  • Support compliance with safety procedures, policies and legislative requirements
  • Participate in toolbox talks, pre-starts and safety meetings
  • Monitor hazards, controls and close-out of corrective actions
  • Support onboarding, inductions and contractor safety requirements
  • Build strong relationships with operational teams, site leaders and contractors
About You
  • Relevant HSE / WHS qualifications, ideally a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry qualification
  • Previous experience in heavy industry, construction, mining, manufacturing, processing or a similar site-based environment
  • Approximately 1+ year of relevant HSE experience is welcomed, provided you have strong capability and the right attitude
  • Practical understanding of safety systems, risk management, compliance and incident reporting
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with workers, contractors and site leadership
  • Proactive, hands-on approach to workplace safety
  • Ability to work effectively within operational environments
