Chandler Macleod are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fabricator / Boilermaker for an urgent, on-site temporary assignment based in Salisbury. You’ll be supporting site operations with a strong focus on maintenance fabrication, welding repairs, and breakdown support to minimise downtime across production equipment and plant.
Key responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and measurements to ensure accurate fabrication and installation.
- Fabricate, assemble, modify, and repair a variety of metal components, structures, frames, and safety guards.
- Carry out MIG and TIG welding, along with general metal fabrication duties.
- Cut, grind, drill, bend, and shape steel and other metals using a range of hand and power tools.
- Safely operate workshop machinery and equipment, including saws, grinders, drills, presses, and welding tools.
- Perform maintenance and repair work on machinery, conveyors, and production equipment.
- Manufacture and modify guards, brackets, platforms, chutes, and other site-specific components.
- Support maintenance teams during equipment breakdowns and urgent repair tasks.
- Maintain a strong commitment to workplace health and safety, including PPE compliance and housekeeping standards.
- Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure it meets specifications and industry standards.
- Undertake occasional work at heights or in confined spaces when appropriately trained and authorised.
- Trade qualification as a Boilermaker / Fabricator
- Solid MIG/TIG welding capability and fabrication experience in a maintenance environment
- Ability to interpret drawings and measure/mark out accurately
- Strong safety mindset and ability to follow site procedures
- Availability to commit to the assignment dates and full-time hours

- Full-time hours on a stable short-term assignment
