This is a unique chance for an experienced Data Analyst to influence strategic decision-making, develop trusted datasets, and contribute to a nationally important project that will shape Australia's security and capabilities for decades to come.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Program Manager, the Data Analyst will provide vital analytical support across workforce, competency, and training data management. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining datasets, crafting insightful reports and dashboards, and supporting strategic workforce planning initiatives. This is a critical position for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys delivering impactful insights to high-level stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance datasets related to workforce, skills, and training programs
  • Provide detailed analysis, reporting, and dashboard visualisations to support strategic decision-making
  • Ensure data integrity, traceability, and compliance with governance standards
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through advanced data analysis techniques
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to meet project requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement of data management and reporting processes
  • Support workforce growth and capability development initiatives through insightful analytics

About You:

You will demonstrate:
  • Proven experience in managing complex datasets, reports, and dashboards
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into strategic insights
  • Knowledge of data governance, quality assurance, and regulatory standards
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience working within government or highly regulated environments (desired)
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance
