Perth and site based | Opportunity with Rio Tinto | 8:6 Roster | FIFO
 
We are seeking an experienced  e-Permitting Trainer  to support the rollout of a new digital e-Permitting system across RTIO Iron Ore operations. This role will focus on developing and delivering training for operational personnel, ensuring users can confidently navigate the system and apply permit-to-work and isolation processes in day-to-day operations, maintenance activities and shutdowns.
 
About the role
 
You will:
  • Design and deliver role-based e Permitting training for Permit Officers, Isolation Officers, Supervisors, Planners, Maintenance and Operations teams.
  • Develop practical classroom, virtual and scenario-based training, including shutdown and isolation scenarios.
  • Support pilot sites, cutover, go-live, first shutdowns and early BAU adoption.
  • Work closely with Isolation SMEs, Change Leads, site teams and the system integrator.
  • Adapt training to site needs and provide hands-on support during deployment.
  • Capture feedback and continuously improve training materials and delivery.
About you
 
You will have:
  • Proven experience delivering training in  safety-critical operational environments.
  • Strong understanding of  Permit to Work, isolations and shutdown processes.
  • Experience training frontline operational teams in clear, practical language.
  • Experience supporting technology or system adoption in live operational environments.
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A calm, practical and safety-focused approach.
Experience with digital permit systems, mining/heavy industry, shutdowns or major system implementations will be highly regarded.
