The Opportunity Reporting to Lead Category Management, you’ll play a key role in executing sourcing strategy for critical goods and services, while optimising cost, risk, and supplier relationships. This is a proactive role suited to someone confident working autonomously and delivering outcomes across the full procurement lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed scopes of work and sourcing strategies
- Lead supplier negotiations to optimise cost, supply certainty, and risk management
- Manage purchase orders, contracts, and amendments
- Conduct market intelligence and support development of local suppliers to strengthen and de-risk the supply base
- Apply total cost of ownership principles to maximise commercial value
- Contribute to category planning and stakeholder engagement
- Operate within a strong safety-first culture
- 3–5 years’ experience in commercial or supply roles (Mining, Metals or Heavy Industry preferred)
- Strong understanding of sourcing-to-contract processes, supply chain fundamentals, and commercial contracting
- Proven track record in supplier negotiations and relationship management
- Solid analytical skills, using SAP data to drive informed commercial decisions
- Confident communicator with initiative and the ability to operate independently
- Relevant qualifications in supply chain, procurement, or related field
- 6-month contract at $80/hr + Super
- Immediate start (or ASAP) in Wollongong
