This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Project Manager to join our client AGL. We are seeking a resource who can navigate ambiguity, build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholder groups, and deliver complex programs involving multiple teams, systems, vendors, and business units. This is a contract role based in Melbourne CBD for six months with a potential to extend for longer in a hybrid working environment.
About the Role
As the Senior Project Manager, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of complex technology, OT, infrastructure, and cyber-related initiatives, ensuring successful outcomes across scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and business benefits. You will be responsible for driving delivery across multiple workstreams, aligning priorities, managing dependencies, establishing governance frameworks, and providing strategic advice to senior leaders and steering committees. The role requires a strong balance of executive stakeholder management and hands-on engagement with technical, engineering, cybersecurity, and delivery teams.
Success in this position will come from your ability to influence across a matrixed environment, foster collaboration, remove delivery obstacles, and guide stakeholders through complex decision-making processes.
About You
You are a confident and adaptable delivery professional who enjoys working in challenging environments and is comfortable balancing strategic oversight with detailed execution.
You will bring:
- Proven experience delivering large-scale technology, infrastructure, operational technology (OT), cyber security, digital transformation, and enterprise-wide change programs.
- Proven experience leading complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, vendors, systems, and delivery workstreams.
- Experience delivering initiatives with significant cyber security, operational resilience, security controls, infrastructure, identity management, or risk management components.
- Strong understanding of project governance, financial management, RAID management, dependency management, and executive reporting.
- Experience working across Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders, sponsors, technical teams, and external partners.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex delivery issues and provide clear recommendations.
- Experience working closely with engineering, operational, cyber security, or asset management stakeholders.
- A pragmatic, collaborative leadership style with a strong focus on outcomes.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification highly regarded.
