Drive the planning and investment decisions that support Western Australia's future growth.

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Investment Planning Analyst to play a key role in shaping major network infrastructure investment programs that support housing development, grid optimisation, and long-term network performance.

This is a highly visible position that combines strategic planning, portfolio management, financial forecasting, and stakeholder engagement. While advertised as a Senior Investment Planning Analyst, the successful candidate will operate as a Senior Grid Portfolio Analyst, responsible for developing investment plans, managing project pipelines, forecasting expenditure, and supporting critical network infrastructure programs.

About the Role
Working across large-scale housing and grid infrastructure portfolios, you will help ensure the right projects are planned, prioritised, funded, and delivered at the right time. You will provide valuable insights that support investment decisions, network capacity planning, and long-term infrastructure strategy.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with planning, delivery, finance, and portfolio management teams while contributing to major infrastructure initiatives that support growing communities across Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities
Portfolio & Investment Planning
  • Develop and maintain short and long-term investment plans across housing and grid optimisation portfolios.
  • Build and manage multi-year project pipelines aligned with strategic network objectives.
  • Identify project dependencies, approval pathways, critical milestones, and delivery risks.
  • Support annual planning cycles and long-term network investment strategies.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Develop and maintain portfolio budgets and expenditure forecasts.
  • Translate capital investment plans into accurate monthly and annual financial forecasts.
  • Maintain rolling expenditure forecasts and analyse variances against budget.
  • Provide recommendations and insights to support investment decision-making.
Housing & Infrastructure Program Planning
  • Monitor infrastructure requirements associated with housing growth initiatives.
  • Analyse network capacity, anticipated housing developments, and energisation timelines.
  • Assess future investment requirements and identify potential capacity constraints.
  • Develop planning scenarios to support prioritisation and risk assessment.
Project Pipeline Management
  • Maintain a forward-looking portfolio of infrastructure projects.
  • Support resource planning, investment prioritisation, and governance processes.
  • Monitor project readiness and ensure key approvals are achieved within required timeframes.
  • Track delivery risks and emerging portfolio challenges.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across planning, delivery, finance, and portfolio teams.
  • Produce reports, forecasts, and analysis for senior leaders and decision-makers.
  • Develop tools, dashboards, and reporting processes that improve planning accuracy and visibility.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across forecasting and portfolio management practices.
About You
  • Experience managing investment plans, project portfolios, infrastructure programs, or complex project schedules.
  • Strong financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical capabilities.
  • The ability to interpret complex data and translate it into meaningful business insights.
  • Experience balancing multiple priorities, dependencies, resources, and delivery timelines.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate risks and provide practical recommendations.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis capability, with experience using planning and reporting tools.
  • Experience within utilities, infrastructure, energy, transport, resources, or other asset-intensive environments highly regarded.
Why Apply? This is an opportunity to join a high-performing team where your work will directly influence major infrastructure investment decisions. You'll play a critical role in ensuring future housing developments and network infrastructure programs are supported by sound planning, robust forecasting, and effective portfolio management.

If you're an experienced portfolio, planning, or investment professional looking to make a meaningful impact on large-scale infrastructure programs, we would love to hear from you.
