Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor (HSE Advisor / WHS Advisor) to join their team on an initial 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension based on business requirements.
This is a site-based role working primarily   in Cockburn. Reporting to the Head of Safety, you will work alongside two experienced team members to provide expert Health, Safety and Risk Management support across operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert Health & Safety, WHS and HSE advice to site teams and leaders.
  • Support hazard identification, risk assessments and risk management activities.
  • Coach and influence stakeholders to promote positive safety behaviours and outcomes.
  • Conduct incident investigations, analyse findings and identify corrective actions.
  • Assist with management of hazards, corrective actions and safety reporting systems.
  • Build strong relationships with operational teams and contractors.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives and best-practice safety outcomes.
  • Support compliance with WHS legislation, company policies and safety procedures.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of a strong safety culture across site operations.
About You
To be successful in this Health & Safety Advisor role, you will have:
  • Previous experience as a Health & Safety Advisor, HSE Advisor, WHS Advisor or Safety Advisor.
  • Tertiary qualification in Health and Safety or related studies (Bachelor, Masters, Grad Dip., Grad Cert.) or Diploma or Cert IV in Health and Safety.
  • Minimum 2 years industry experience in the power generation or resourcing sectors.
  • Incident Cause Analysis Method (ICAM) Lead Facilitator trained (or competence supporting investigations if non-ICAM methodology - Highly preferred
  • A coaching mindset with the ability to influence and guide others without relying on authority.
  • Confidence engaging with personnel at all levels of the business.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, including consequence and likelihood assessments.
  • Experience using Health & Safety Management Systems and digital reporting tools.
