Sunshine Coast | Immediate Start | Contract through to December 2026 | $63.89 per hour + Super | Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm
An opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join a large and complex organisation on the Sunshine Coast.
This role will see you lead external audit activities, manage audit findings, provide technical accounting advice, support asset management financial reporting, and drive governance and process improvement initiatives across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage external audit processes and stakeholder engagement
- Lead the resolution of audit findings and control deficiencies
- Prepare technical accounting papers and financial reporting advice
- Support asset management accounting and long-term financial modelling
- Identify risks, control gaps and opportunities for process improvement
- Build strong relationships across the organisation and provide expert financial advice
- Degree qualified in Accounting with CA or CPA accreditation
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience
- Experience managing audits and addressing audit findings
- Ability to analyse complex issues and provide practical, risk-based solutions
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and Excel skills
- Experience within local government, government, infrastructure, utilities or similarly complex environments will be highly regarded
