Working closely with the School’s Planning and Operations team, this role will support the smooth delivery of day-to-day School operations, with a particular focus on casual and sessional staff administration, payroll processing, facilities coordination and general administrative support.

This is a 1 day per week opportunity, ideal for an experienced administrator looking for a highly flexible part-time position within a large and complex organisation.

The Role
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with internal teams including HR, Finance, Casual Recruitment and other professional services functions
  • Assisting with facilities access, maintenance requests and resources for staff, students and visitors
  • Providing administrative assistance across teaching, research, engagement and School activities
  • Supporting School events and operational activities as required
  • Building effective working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline administrative processes and improve service delivery
  • Providing general administrative support across the School as required

About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Previous experience providing high-level administrative support within a university, education environment or similarly large and complex organisation
  • Experience coordinating payroll approvals and employment administration
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately within established policies, processes and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and customer service capabilities
  • Well-developed organisational and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, along with email and electronic document management systems
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated relevant experience

Experience working with casual or sessional workforce administration will be highly regarded.

Additional Requirements
Appointment to this position will be subject to a valid Victorian Working with Children Check and any other relevant pre-employment checks.

If you’re an experienced administrator looking for a flexible one-day-per-week opportunity where you can contribute to the effective operation of a busy academic environment, we’d love to hear from you.
