We are currently seeking 3x Road Workers to join our state government client’s team based at the Fernbank Creek Depot. This is a great opportunity for candidates with construction, road work or general labouring experience to join a team and assist with a variety of physical and routine tasks.
In this role, you will perform a variety of routine and repetitive physical tasks using hand and power tools, machinery and equipment, either independently or as part of a team assisting more skilled workers, including Road Workers, Trades Workers and Machinery Operators.
The position will commence ASAP and run through to 19 December 2026, with the possibility of extension. The role offers a 9-day fortnight, with overtime likely each day of up to 2 hours.
Duties
- Perform a variety of routine and repetitive physical labouring tasks.
- Assist Road Workers, Trades Workers, Machinery Operators and Drivers as required.
- Use hand and power tools and machinery safely and effectively.
- Undertake general construction and road work activities.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Assist with tasks requiring physical effort and repetitive manual work.
- Follow workplace health and safety requirements and procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Construction White Card – essential.
- Workers on Foot (WOF) ticket – essential(or willing to obtain prior to commencement)
- Current driver’s licence – essential.
- Previous construction experience – essential.
- Physically fit and capable of performing repetitive physical tasks.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to pass a National Police Check – essential.
Highly regarded:
- Implementation of Traffic Control Plans ticket.
- Prepare Works Zone Traffic Management Plan ticket.
- Current MR truck licence.
- Plant operator competencies, particularly rollers, excavators and loaders.
