Our client is seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to join their operation on a FIFO basis from Perth. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in improving equipment performance, driving reliability initiatives, and supporting continuous improvement across a major mining and mineral processing operation.
About the Role
Reporting to the site maintenance leadership team, you will be responsible for identifying and eliminating equipment reliability issues through data-driven analysis, engineering solutions, and collaboration with operational stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Investigating equipment downtime events and identifying root causes of failures.
- Conducting detailed root cause analyses (RCA) and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
- Reviewing, developing, and optimising maintenance strategies, including:
- Task scopes
- Maintenance intervals
- Resource requirements
- Critical spares management
- Managing technical relationships with OEMs and specialist suppliers.
- Providing technical support across control systems, hydraulics, and measurement systems.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment availability and performance.
- Ensuring engineering solutions align with operational and business objectives.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Proven experience in Reliability Engineering within mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial environments.
- Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer or similar.
- Experience using Navisworks software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience investigating equipment failures.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and asset performance optimisation.
- Exposure to SAP S/4HANA.
