Reliability Engineer (FIFO Perth)

Our client is seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to join their operation on a FIFO basis from Perth. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in improving equipment performance, driving reliability initiatives, and supporting continuous improvement across a major mining and mineral processing operation.
About the Role
Reporting to the site maintenance leadership team, you will be responsible for identifying and eliminating equipment reliability issues through data-driven analysis, engineering solutions, and collaboration with operational stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Investigating equipment downtime events and identifying root causes of failures.
  • Conducting detailed root cause analyses (RCA) and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
  • Reviewing, developing, and optimising maintenance strategies, including:
    • Task scopes
    • Maintenance intervals
    • Resource requirements
    • Critical spares management
  • Managing technical relationships with OEMs and specialist suppliers.
  • Providing technical support across control systems, hydraulics, and measurement systems.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment availability and performance.
  • Ensuring engineering solutions align with operational and business objectives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
  • Proven experience in Reliability Engineering within mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer or similar.
  • Experience using Navisworks software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience investigating equipment failures.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and asset performance optimisation.
  • Exposure to SAP S/4HANA.
