About the role
We are seeking a Ranger to join a professional compliance team in a varied and rewarding field-based role. This position offers full-time hours on a rotating 7-day roster and is suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, engaging with the community, investigating compliance matters, undertaking animal management activities, and contributing to public safety outcomes. This is a casual role offering full time hours.
 
Duties
  • Conduct patrols and inspections of public spaces and community areas.
  • Investigate complaints and compliance matters relating to environmental, parking, animal management and public safety issues.
  • Issue infringement notices and undertake enforcement activities in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and provide education and guidance on compliance matters.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, records and evidence to support investigations and legal proceedings.
  • Undertake animal control activities, including the handling, impounding and welfare management of domestic animals.
  • Monitor public areas and identify potential risks to community safety.
  • Maintain accurate records and utilise digital systems for reporting and compliance activities.
 
Skills and Experience
  • SEINS (Self-Enforcing Infringement Notice Scheme) qualification or equivalent and/or eligibility to obtain such qualification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and provide evidence when required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of risk management and workplace safety practices, particularly regarding the handling and care of livestock and domestic animals.
  • Proven ability to engage professionally with a broad range of customers, stakeholders and community representatives.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Sound computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office and other software systems.
  • Current Class C Driver Licence, with the ability to drive manual vehicles and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Previous experience in compliance, ranger services, animal management, law enforcement, security, investigations or a related field will be highly regarded.
