This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the planning and delivery of major sustaining capital earthworks projects across two of Gladstone’s largest industrial operations. Working alongside experienced project and construction teams, you’ll help coordinate projects from detailed planning through to field execution and completion.

About the RoleAs Project Engineer, you’ll work closely with Project Leads, Construction Superintendents, Supervisors, Engineers and operational stakeholders to safely and efficiently deliver annual wall raise projects across QAL and Yarwun.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Opportunity with Rio Tinto.
- Supporting the planning and execution of annual wall raise programs.
- Managing assigned work packages through project execution.
- Coordinating engineering, procurement and construction activities.
- Developing and monitoring project schedules, budgets and forecasts.
- Monitoring construction productivity and project performance.
- Providing field engineering support to construction teams.
- Resolving technical and execution issues impacting project delivery.
- Coordinating survey, geotechnical and specialist engineering resources.
- Managing technical queries, field design changes, project risks and change control.
- Supporting procurement and contract administration activities.
- Ensuring project quality, engineering standards and technical specifications are maintained.
- Supporting project reporting, capital governance and stage-gate requirements.
- Working closely with Operations, Engineering and Construction teams to achieve safe and successful project outcomes.
To be successful, you will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- 8+ years’ experience in project delivery, construction or engineering roles.
- Experience delivering civil earthworks, bulk earthworks, infrastructure, dams, tailings or residue projects.
- Experience within mining, resources, heavy industry or major infrastructure environments.
- Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling, cost management and forecasting.
- Experience coordinating engineering, procurement and construction activities.
- Strong construction and field engineering capability.
- Demonstrated safety leadership and commitment to quality.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Eligibility for professional engineering registration.
- Experience within a self-perform, owner team or contractor delivery model will be highly regarded.
- SAP and Microsoft Project experience will be advantageous.
- Work with one of Australia’s leading industrial operators.

- Monday to Friday roster, with Saturdays as required.
