An exciting opportunity exists for a proactive and customer-focused Membership Officer to join a leading tourism industry organisation. Working closely with tourism operators across Western Australia, you will play a key role in member engagement, accreditation programs, business support and industry development initiatives.

About the Role


As the first point of contact for members and prospective members, you will support businesses throughout their membership journey, from recruitment and onboarding through to renewal and retention.

You will work directly with tourism operators to help them understand and achieve industry accreditation standards, access business development opportunities and maximise the benefits of membership.

This is a varied and rewarding role combining relationship management, member services, assessment activities, administration and industry engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for member and prospective member enquiries
  • Manage the end-to-end membership lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, renewals and retention
  • Assist tourism operators to understand and apply tourism accreditation and quality assurance programs
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and guidance on accreditation, customer service, workforce development, business planning and digital capability
  • Conduct online and onsite business assessments against accreditation standards.
  • Identify and engage new tourism businesses to participate in membership and accreditation programs
  • Maintain accurate records within CRM and accreditation databases
  • Process registrations, memberships and electronic payments
  • Support industry events, training programs, workshops and other member initiatives
  • Contribute to broader organisational projects and administrative activities as required
About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a confident communicator who enjoys helping businesses achieve their goals. You will have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to build trusted relationships across a diverse stakeholder network.

Essential Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service focus and commitment to member satisfaction
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Experience maintaining accurate database and CRM records
  • Effective time management and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small team environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel independently throughout Western Australia when required
  • Current C-Class Driver's Licence
Desirable Experience
  • Qualifications in Business, Tourism, Training or a related field
  • Knowledge of the tourism industry and its key stakeholders
  • Experience with quality assurance or accreditation frameworks
  • Experience working within tourism, membership-based organisations or the not-for-profit sector
  • Presentation and facilitation skills
