We are looking for an experienced, safety conscious Mechanical Maintainer to join Rio Tinto’s Dampier ports operation. The purpose of this role will be to provide a safe and efficient facility through the execution of mechanical fault finding, planned and opportune maintenance.

This role operates on a 5/5/4 Sportsman roster.
This is a residential only from Dampier or Karratha.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and working in a collaborative community, the role will require you to:
- Complete preventative/corrective/planned /operational maintenance for all equipment in the fixed plant area, including but not limited to, conveyors, balanced machines, car dumpers
- Conduct routine inspections of all fixed plant assets
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness and comply with company policies and procedures
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement projects by increasing safety whilst reducing risk and cost
- Utilise SAP to ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded, assigned correctly and completed to the relevant standard / specification
- Isolate equipment for maintenance and operational tasks
What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- A Mechanical Engineering/Fitting/Fabrication Trade Qualification
- Experience working on the following equipment: car dumpers, stackers, reclaimers and shiploaders
- Proficiency in motor/gearbox, Pulley and Bucketwheel changeouts, Laser Alignment, and Rigging experience as well as ability to conduct high quality maintenance inspections.
- Working at Heights, confined space, EWP, Forklift tickets/license
- A Manual C-class Australian driver’s licence (HR desirable)
