The Opportunity
Our Client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to join the Maintenance team committed to proactive asset management. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will play a critical role in maximising equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency across a large-scale mineral sands processing and mining operation.
Working closely with maintenance, operations and technical stakeholders, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating and optimising maintenance plans and schedules that support safe, efficient and reliable plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed maintenance plans and schedules for fixed plant assets
- Coordinate planned shutdowns, preventative maintenance and statutory inspections
- Manage maintenance work orders through SAP S/4HANA Cloud
- Ensure labour, materials, tooling and contractor requirements are identified and available prior to scheduled works
- Monitor work execution and provide schedule compliance reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance strategies, equipment reliability and planning effectiveness
- Collaborate with operations, engineering and maintenance teams to minimise downtime and optimise production outcomes
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and asset history
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance planning and execution activities
Essential
- Demonstrated experience using SAP S/4HANA Cloud in a maintenance planning environment
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project
- Experience planning maintenance activities within heavy industrial, mining, minerals processing, or resources environments
- Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to prioritise competing maintenance requirements in a dynamic operational setting
- Mechanical or Electrical Trade Qualification
- Fixed plant maintenance experience
- Approximately 3+ years’ experience in a Maintenance Planner (or similar) role
- Exposure to reliability-centred maintenance and continuous improvement methodologies
