About the role
We're currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Linemarker to join a leading State Government organisation based at the Hay Depot.
 
This is a great opportunity for someone with a general labouring, roadwork or traffic control background who enjoys working outdoors, travelling to different work locations and being part of a hands-on team.
 
Standard hours are 7:00am to 4:00pm, working a 9-day fortnight, with potential for overtime, weekend and night work. The successful candidate must be based in Hay or the surrounding area and be willing and able to travel and work away from home for periods of up to a week or 10 days at a time, including night work when required.

 
Duties
  • General labouring duties associated with linemarking and road maintenance works.
  • Cleaning and maintaining work vehicles and equipment.
  • Loading trucks and equipment, including forklift duties where appropriately ticketed.
  • Driving vans to escort linemarking vehicles and work crews.
  • Transporting vehicles and equipment to work sites where appropriately licensed.
  • Assisting with the safe setup and completion of works on site.
  • Working safely around live traffic and maintaining a strong focus on workplace health and safety.
  • Undertaking other general duties as directed by the supervisor.
 

Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience in roadworks, linemarking, civil construction or general labouring will be highly regarded.
  • Truck licence is preferred but not essential.
  • Forklift ticket and experience loading trucks is advantageous.
  • Physically fit and capable of undertaking hands-on labouring duties.
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
 

Essential:
  • Ability to travel and work away from home for up to a week/10 days at a time, including potential night work.
  • Must live locally to Hay or surrounding areas.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and night shifts when required.
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Ability to pass a National Police Check.
  • Essential: Current Traffic Control ticket.
  • Essential: Current unrestricted car licence.
  • Essential: Workers on Foot (WOF) qualification.
