We’re seeking an experienced Landfill Operator to join a government client based in Coffs Harbour. This is a hands-on role supporting day-to-day landfill operations, operating mobile plant and working safely in a busy waste management environment.
This is a casual role offering full-time hours (38 per week) across a 7-day rotating roster, typically working 7:00am–5:30pm on weekdays and 7:30am–4:30pm on weekends and public holidays (and if you’re a strong candidate but can’t commit to weekends, we still encourage you to apply).
Duties
- Safe operation of landfill plant and machinery (site-based mobile plant)
- General landfill / waste station operations and support as required
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment and following site procedures
- Completing routine checks and reporting faults/incidents promptly
- Working to WHS requirements and supporting safe traffic / site movements
Skills and Experience
- Certificate III in Civil Construction or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum 2 years’ previous experience and relevant tickets on at least one of the following:
- Waste Compactor
- Track Loader
- Excavator
- Front-end Loader
- White Card (Construction Induction)
- Current NSW HR licence
Desirable:
- Waste facility / landfill experience
- Strong safety focus and confidence working outdoors in a team environment
