Chandler Macleod is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Information & Records Management Advisor to join a high-profile national organisation delivering complex, large-scale programs of national significance.

This is an exciting opportunity for a records management professional to play a key role in strengthening information governance, compliance, and records management practices within a highly regulated and security-conscious environment. You will work as part of a collaborative team responsible for enterprise-wide information and records management services, ensuring information assets are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle.

The Opportunity
As an Information & Records Management Advisor, you will provide specialist records management expertise and support the delivery of information governance initiatives across the organisation.

Working within a geographically dispersed team, you will contribute to records lifecycle management, information governance assurance activities, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to improve information management capability, support regulatory obligations, and promote best practice information governance.

This role offers the opportunity to influence enterprise-wide information management outcomes while supporting critical business operations and strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage records throughout their lifecycle, including classification, retention, sentencing, transfer, archiving and disposal activities.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of information governance frameworks, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and administer electronic document and records management systems (EDRMS).
  • Conduct compliance reviews, assurance activities and information management audits.
  • Provide expert advice to stakeholders on records management obligations, legislative requirements and best practice processes.
  • Identify risks, resolve complex records management issues and recommend practical solutions.
  • Develop guidance materials, training resources and awareness initiatives to build organisational capability.
  • Contribute to strategic information management projects and organisational improvement initiatives.

To be successful, you will demonstrate:
  • Experience managing records across their lifecycle in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Government information and records management frameworks.
  • Experience administering and maintaining Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS).
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyse information, identify risks and implement practical improvements.
  • Experience undertaking compliance, governance or assurance activities.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
