We are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join a respected State Government client delivering critical infrastructure and maintenance projects in Sydney.
This is a hands-on role offering a combination of workshop and field-based work, with a strong focus on mechanical fitting, maintenance, repairs and installations. Suitable candidates will have experience working on mechanical systems, plant and equipment, with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment. This casual role offers full time hours (approx 7am to 3pm), Monday to Friday, as well as a 9 day fortnight on offer, having every second Monday off.
Duties
- Carry out mechanical fitting, installation, maintenance and repair work on a variety of machinery and equipment.
- Inspect, troubleshoot and rectify mechanical faults in accordance with quality and safety standards.
- Work on hydraulic and pneumatic systems, undertaking repairs, servicing and commissioning activities.
- Complete preventative maintenance and emergency repair works across field and workshop environments.
- Use powered and non-powered hand tools, plant and equipment safely and effectively.
- Conduct safety inspections, routine equipment checks and maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Assist with problem-solving and fault-finding activities to minimise downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent.
- Current Construction Industry White Card.
- Current unrestricted NSW Driver's Licence.
- Strong experience in mechanical fitting, maintenance and repair activities.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely in both workshop and field-based environments.
- Sound fault-finding, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dogging Ticket.
- Rigging Ticket.
- Working at Heights certification.
- Rail RISI competencies and/or RIW Card.
- Experience within infrastructure, transport, maintenance, heavy industry, rail or related sectors.
Allowances
- Ordinary: $50.55 p/h + super
- Early shift: $56.87 p/h + super
- Afternoon: $63.19 p/h + super
- Night: $75.83 p/h + super
- Double time: $101.11 p/h + super
