Pay Rate: $ 64.52 per hour + penalties (depending on experience and qualifications)
About the Role Chandler Macleod is seeking Fabrication Operators to support a major maintenance program within a high-compliance industrial environment. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing fabrication and maintenance support while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
This position requires flexibility to work shift work (Day & Afternoon) and overtime as required to meet operational demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform fabrication and maintenance support activities in line with project requirements.
- Operate forklifts and other site equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to workplace procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Support maintenance teams in the execution of planned and reactive maintenance activities.
- Undertake general labouring and materials handling duties as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
- Work collaboratively within a team environment to achieve project objectives.
- Comply with all site safety, security, and operational requirements.
- Current Forklift High Risk Work Licence (LF).
- Australian Citizenship.
- Current National Police Clearance (issued within the last 3 months).
- Current Confined Space Certification (within two years validity).
- Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical Assessment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Availability to work shift work and overtime as required.
- Previous submarine maintenance or fabrication experience.
- Experience working within defence, marine, heavy industrial, shipbuilding, maintenance, or manufacturing environments.
- Current Hepatitis A & B vaccinations.
- Additional high-risk licences, tickets, or fabrication-related qualifications.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Safety-focused and compliant with procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and proactive.
- Ability to follow work instructions and established processes.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks.
- Adaptable and able to work within dynamic operational environments.
- Australian Citizenship.
- National Police Clearance (no older than three months).
- Current Confined Space Certification.
- Ability to successfully complete a Pre-Employment Medical Assessment.
- Availability to provide details of any previous engagement on the project or site if applicable.
