We are looking for an experienced  E&I Project Coordinator  to help drive the successful delivery of a Rio Tinto project at  Cape Lambert. This is a  FIFO role on an 8:6 roster, working closely with construction and project teams to keep activities running safely, smoothly, and to schedule. The vacancy is due to project delivery needs on site, with extra coordination support required across contractors and work fronts.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate and manage on-site implementation activities across electrical and instrumentation scopes
  • Oversee multiple contractors and site teams to keep execution aligned and collaborative
  • Support Construction Leads and Project Engineers with reporting, performance, cost, quality, schedule, and safety outcomes
  • Ensure all construction work meets site standards, HSEQ requirements, and management systems
  • Track progress, flag schedule risks early, and help put practical mitigations in place
  • Drive continuous improvement across day-to-day delivery
  • Support QA/QC activities (inspections, verification, and spec compliance)
  • Assist with punch lists and prepare for commissioning activities
  • Liaise with contractors and operations during commissioning and handover
  • Verify contractor timesheets and daily work records
  • Prepare daily site reports, handover notes, and project updates
  • Join operational and shutdown coordination meetings when required
About You You’re someone who’s confident on site, comfortable managing stakeholders, and thrives in a high-tempo project environment.

To be a strong applicant, you’ll bring:
  • Proven experience coordinating construction or capital projects in  mining, resources, or heavy industry
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and contractors
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary scopes (E&I plus exposure to mechanical/structural/civil/piping/building is ideal)
  • Background in  brownfield  construction environments
  • Solid understanding of contractor management, project delivery, and site coordination
  • A strong commitment to  safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Experience with  Rio Tinto-style  delivery systems/processes (highly regarded)
