Melton Location | $46 per hour + Super | Full-Time Contract to December 2026
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Customer Support Officer to join a busy local government organisation based in Melton.
This role is ideal for a customer-focused professional who enjoys helping people, solving problems and delivering outstanding service across a variety of customer channels.
You'll be the face and voice of Council, assisting community members via phone, email and face-to-face interactions while ensuring a positive customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide customer support across a range of channels including face-to-face, telephone and email correspondence.
- Deliver high-quality customer service with a focus on first contact resolution.
- Respond to enquiries and provide accurate information regarding Council services and operations.
- Record customer requests and update relevant systems accurately.
- Process over-the-counter payments and perform daily cashiering and reconciliation duties.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Council services, processes and community programs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance customer experiences.
- Manage customer enquiries professionally, including sensitive or complex situations.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a customer service, contact centre or customer support environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide exceptional service across multiple channels.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously while managing competing priorities.
- Sound administrative and computer skills, with experience using customer management systems highly regarded.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate cash handling experience.
- A professional, empathetic and customer-focused approach.
- Experience supporting people from diverse backgrounds, including culturally and linguistically diverse communities and people with disabilities.
