An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Business Support Officer to join a State Government team. Reporting to the Manager, Sector Relationships, you will play a key role in supporting the efficient operation of the business unit through the delivery of high-quality administrative, customer service and office support functions. This position is ideal for an organised and proactive administrator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and delivering exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.
This is a casual role offering full time hours (8 hrs per day / 40 hours per week) with an initial engagement period of 6 months from commencement. 2 days WFH are on offer, with 3 days based in the Coffs office.
Duties
- Provide administrative and office support to assist the day-to-day operations of the business unit.
- Manage and process business information, ensuring records are accurate, accessible and maintained in line with policies and procedures.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations and other documentation using a range of office technologies.
- Maintain filing and record management systems, ensuring information is stored, tracked and retrieved efficiently.
- Coordinate meetings, schedules and administrative activities across the team.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and other business units.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance administrative processes and systems.
- Provide assistance to other administration team members as required.
- Undertake customer service and reception duties, acting as a first point of contact and ensuring enquiries are resolved or escalated appropriately.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in an administration, office support or customer service role.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy when managing records and documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other business systems.
- Experience maintaining electronic filing and record management systems.
- Previous experience within a government environment will be highly regarded.
- Drivers licence.
