About the role
You will be completing heavy fabrication and welding including:
- ARC / MMAW and TIG / GTAW welding
- Plasma / LPG oxy cutting
- Reading and interpreting structural drawings
- Working to strict safety and quality standards
- Australian citizen
- National Police Clearance (issued within the last 3 months)
- White Card and Confined Space ticket(refreshed within the last 2 years)
- Minimum 2 years’ heavy industrial fabrication experience(defence, mining, shipbuilding or construction projects)
- Strong understanding of welding processes (MMAW/GTAW + cutting processes)
- Own vehicle and current driver’s licence
- Great attitude, strong attention to detail, and a safety-first approach
- Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering (Fabrication stream)
- Platework / large complex structures experience
- Hepatitis A & B vaccinations
- Basic computer skills
Successful applicants will be required to apply for the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Identification Card (NSSIC) following interview. Current NSSIC holders will be strongly regarded.
