Pay Rate: $80.00 (NT), $120.00 (T1/2), $160.00 (DT)
Chandler Macleod is seeking a Trade Boilermaker / Welder for a 6-month contract with a Defence client in Western Australia. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in the defence / marine shipbuilding industry.
Duties:
- Perform fabrication, welding and general maintenance duties
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprints
- Set up machinery / welding equipment
- Perform MMAW and GTAW welding techniques to fabricate and repair metal structures
- Measure, cut, shape and assemble metal components
- Operate hand and power tools, grinders, torches, and welding equipment
- Maintain work area cleanliness and follow WHS protocols
- Work independently or as part of a team in the workshop or in onsite environment
Requirements:
- Must hold Australian Citizenship
- Trade Qualification – Cert III Fabrication / Welding
- White Card
- Confined Space
- National Police Clearance (less than 3 months)
- Previous shipbuilding experience highly desirable
- Experience working with welding procedures and inspection welds
- Experience performing fabrication, welding and general maintenance duties
- Experience performing MMAW and GTAW welding techniques to fabricate and repair metal structures
- Comfortable working in confined spaces
- Have the ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Defence Clearance
