Assistant Practice Manager

Location: Brisbane
Duration: 12-Month Assignment with Potential Extension

About the Opportunity

The Agency is seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Practice Manager to support the delivery of high-quality services within a busy and dynamic environment.

Reporting to the Practice Manager, this role is responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, coordinating administrative functions, leading support staff, and ensuring services are delivered efficiently and professionally. The successful candidate will play an important role in workforce coordination, stakeholder engagement, compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day operational and administrative functions of the business.

  • Supervise and coordinate administration and reception teams.

  • Provide coaching, guidance and performance support to team members.

  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, induction and workforce administration activities.

  • Manage escalated client and operational enquiries.

  • Support finance, procurement, travel, facilities and resource management activities.

  • Monitor service standards and identify opportunities for process improvement.

  • Conduct quality assurance and compliance activities to support operational excellence.

  • Prepare reports, analyse data and provide operational insights to support decision-making.

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience in practice management, office management, operations coordination, administration management or business support.

  • Previous experience leading or supervising administrative staff.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • A customer-focused approach and commitment to service excellence.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement.

  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and business systems.

  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within government, healthcare, community services or human services environments.

  • Exposure to recruitment, human resources, finance or compliance functions.

  • Qualifications in Business Administration, Practice Management or a related discipline.
