Chandler Macleod is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Assistant Director - Workforce Data & HR Systems to lead a major workforce systems transformation initiative. This role will play a critical part in transitioning workforce and payroll functions from Aurion to Workday, while acting as the steward for workforce data integrity, reporting modernisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for a high-performing HR systems professional with strong workforce analytics, data governance, and ERP implementation experience within a Government environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the transition of workforce and payroll data from Aurion to Workday.
  • Act as workforce data steward, ensuring data integrity, reliability, and governance standards are maintained.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing delivery of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Program across HR functions.
  • Deliver workforce reporting and analytics for executive committees, annual reporting, Senate Estimates, and ad hoc business needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across HR systems and workforce processes.
  • Manage HRIS functionality, enhancements, upgrades, and optimisation activities.
  • Develop system configuration documentation, process blueprints, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Provide authoritative advice on HR systems, workforce reporting, payroll, and compliance obligations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and support strategic workforce outcomes.
About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
  • Experience leading or supporting payroll and workforce system transitions.
  • Strong exposure to Aurion and/or Workday platforms.
  • Experience acting as a data steward or managing workforce data governance.
  • Demonstrated capability in workforce data analysis, reporting, and data integrity management.
  • Experience developing and implementing new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Strong understanding of HR and payroll legislation, industrial instruments, and enterprise agreements.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and report writing skills.
  • Experience delivering HR systems and workforce initiatives within a Government environment.
