Local council in North Melbourne Suburbs are seeking an Asset Engineer to support asset management initiatives across roads, drainage, buildings and open space assets. This role offers the opportunity to apply your engineering, GIS and asset management expertise while contributing to long-term infrastructure planning and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update infrastructure asset registers across multiple asset classes.
- Support asset data reconciliation and asset management improvement projects.
- Manage and maintain asset management systems and associated databases.
- Prepare technical reports, plans, specifications and cost estimates.
- Assess engineering plans, reports and documentation against relevant standards.
- Assist with lifecycle modelling, asset planning and future works programs.
- Support capital works planning and performance reporting.
- Respond to asset-related enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to utilise GIS software (such as QGIS, ArcGIS, or MapInfo) to capture, map, edit, and analyse large spatial datasets.
- Sound understanding of Asset Management systems preferably OneCouncil.
- Data Management and Analytical Skills
- Strong technical capability in manipulating, querying, and reporting on large, complex aspatial and spatial datasets.
- Excellent organisation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
