We're currently seeking an experienced Welder to join a leading State Government organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder with TIG welding experience who takes pride in producing high-quality work and maintaining a strong focus on safety. Working as part of a professional workshop team, you'll be responsible for carrying out precision welding and fabrication work on rail equipment and associated components.
This is an immediate start, offering full-time hours (38 hours per week), Monday to Friday from 7:15am to 3:45pm, with an RDO every four weeks. The initial assignment is for 6 months, with the potential for extension.
Duties
- Perform high-quality TIG welding on a variety of metal components and assemblies.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications.
- Carry out fabrication, repair and maintenance work to required standards.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
- Safely operate welding equipment and workshop tools.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively as part of a workshop team to meet production deadlines.
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience as a TIG Welder (essential).
- Ability to produce high-quality, precision welds.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings and welding specifications.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Physically fit and capable of performing workshop-based duties.
- Ability to provide two recent work references.
- Ability to pass a National Police Check.
