About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex fleet, plant, and innovation projects within a large and dynamic operations environment.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role responsible for driving major programs across fleet replacement, zero-emissions transition, telematics, and digital transformation—ensuring safety, compliance, and whole-of-life value.
You will work across engineering, procurement, and operations functions to deliver measurable improvements in reliability, sustainability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of fleet, plant, and innovation projects from business case through to implementation
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and reporting frameworks
  • Translate operational requirements into detailed technical specifications for heavy vehicles and equipment
  • Apply lifecycle costing and asset management principles to optimise total cost of ownership and fleet performance
  • Ensure compliance with HVNL, NHVR Chain of Responsibility, and relevant safety and design standards
  • Partner with WHS teams to deliver risk assessments, incident reviews, and continuous safety improvements
  • Drive innovation initiatives including EV and hydrogen fleet trials, charging infrastructure, and sustainability programs
  • Develop and implement fleet transition strategies aligned to emissions reduction targets
  • Lead telematics and IoT integration to deliver data-driven insights on utilisation, safety, and efficiency
  • Support digital transformation across fleet and workshop operations, including system integration and process improvement
  • Manage procurement activities including tender development, evaluation, negotiation, and contract award
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance against safety, cost, quality, and service KPIs
  • Engage and influence stakeholders across operations, finance, procurement, ICT, and executive teams
  • Prepare and deliver reports, presentations, and business cases for senior leadership
  • Ensure strong governance, documentation, and audit readiness across all projects

About You
You are a technically strong and commercially astute project manager with experience delivering large-scale projects in a safety-critical environment.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Engineering, Project Management or equivalent experience
  • Proven success delivering multi-million-dollar fleet, infrastructure, or asset projects
  • Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle compliance (HVNL / NHVR CoR)
  • Experience in procurement, technical specifications, and contract management
  • Solid understanding of asset lifecycle management (ISO 55000) and WHS frameworks
  • Strong data and systems capability (telematics, analytics, enterprise platforms)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Desirable
  • PRINCE2, PMP, or similar certification
  • Experience with EV or alternative fuel vehicle programs
  • Exposure to waste, civil, or heavy fleet operations
  • Knowledge of sustainability frameworks and emissions reduction strategies
