About the Team

Join a team responsible for strengthening workforce integrity, personnel security and suitability practices within a large Australian Government organisation. The team plays a key role in ensuring workforce decisions are fair, consistent, risk-based and aligned with government security, integrity and governance requirements.
The team works across multiple business areas, partnering with People and Culture, Cyber Security, Fraud, Legal, Risk, Audit and operational teams to improve workforce suitability processes and manage integrity risks. This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful reform, develop contemporary frameworks and support a strong culture of integrity.
 
About the Role

The Specialist Advisor, Employment Suitability and Workforce Integrity will provide expert advice and leadership in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of workforce suitability frameworks.
The role will lead complex work involving personnel security, pre-employment screening, risk assessment, governance and integrity practices across the employee lifecycle. You will provide trusted advice on sensitive workforce matters, support consistent decision-making and develop practical solutions to manage organisational risk.
This role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgement and the ability to work with sensitive information while engaging confidently with senior stakeholders
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, consultation and implementation of workforce suitability frameworks aligned with government security, integrity and personnel security requirements.
  • Provide expert advice on complex suitability assessments, risk considerations and appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Apply structured assessment approaches to review workforce risks and support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Strengthen pre-employment screening processes and ensure checks are proportionate to role requirements.
  • Develop approaches for ongoing workforce suitability monitoring and integrity risk management.
  • Provide advice on workforce role risk, including positions requiring additional integrity or access considerations.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, guidance materials and governance documentation.
  • Prepare high-quality executive briefs, reports, assessments and decision records.
  • Build strong relationships across People and Culture, Cyber, Fraud, Legal, Audit, Risk and operational teams.
  • Lead complex projects, manage competing priorities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to colleagues to build capability in personnel security and integrity practices.
 
You Must Have
 
  • Significant experience in personnel security, suitability assessment, vetting, integrity, governance, risk or related fields.
  • Experience applying risk-based assessment approaches and making defensible recommendations.
  • Experience developing or implementing frameworks, policies, procedures or assessment methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and identify risks.
  • Experience preparing high-quality written advice, reports, assessments and executive briefings.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence outcomes across diverse teams.
  • Experience leading projects, reforms or continuous improvement activities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a complex environment.

  • Rate: $602.55 daily + Super
