We are currently seeking experienced Shotfirers to join a major Tier One Iron Ore Expansion Project commencing in early September.
This is an outstanding opportunity to secure long-term work on a high-profile iron ore operation, working within a well-established Drill & Blast team and contributing to a significant expansion project.
The Role Reporting to the Drill & Blast Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading, tie-in, initiation, and firing of production blasts while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Shotfirer within a production mining environment
- Current Shotfirer's Licence
- Current Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC)
- Dangerous Goods Driver's Licence (highly regarded)
- Extensive experience in drill and blast operations
- Experience with blast loading, tie-ins, and initiation systems
- Strong understanding of explosives handling and storage requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Current and relevant mining tickets and certifications
- Ability to meet site medical and onboarding requirements
- Safely load and charge blast holes in accordance with blast designs
- Conduct tie-ins and prepare blasts for firing
- Handle, transport, and store explosives in compliance with legislative and site requirements
- Complete blast inspections and quality checks
- Maintain accurate blast records and documentation
- Follow all site safety, environmental, and compliance procedures
- Work collaboratively with Drill & Blast, Mining, and Technical Services teams
- FIFO 8:6 / 7:7 roster
- Early September commencement
