About the Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing all electrical aspects of project planning, design, and implementation. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with clients and vendors, and ensure all electrical systems meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Your expertise will be critical in delivering efficient, reliable electrical solutions on time and within budget, contributing to the success of large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects.
Required Skills
- Performing detailed primary design engineering of substations
- Specifying and providing technical input to HV Substations
- Working with both Electrical and Structural Designers to complete Primary Design of Outdoor Air Insulated Switchgear and Transformers
- Integration of HV systems and LV protection systems
- Design and documentation for HV Substations
- Conduct quality checks and reviews of design documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Manage and implement design changes and optimisation
- Establishment and continued updating of technical design standards and procedures
- Technically support construction teams with procurement and technical queries
- Provide mentorship to electrical engineers and junior engineers
- Experience with automation and control systems
- Knowledge of renewable energy solutions or smart grid technologies
- Certification such as Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent
- Familiarity with safety and environmental compliance standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; a Master’s degree is a plus
- A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant industry experience, ideally with large-scale infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects
- Demonstrated leadership capability in managing technical teams and project delivery
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
- Relevant professional certifications are preferred
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing project requirements
